Match Overview

WWE’s biggest annual event is back and more spectacular than ever. WrestleMania 42 returns to Las Vegas for the second year in a row, taking over Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19, 2026. Originally planned for the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, the event was moved to Las Vegas following the tremendous financial success of WrestleMania 41, with Vegas placing a higher bid to host the show once again. Featuring 13 confirmed matches across two nights, including eight championship contests, WrestleMania 42 is shaping up to be an absolutely unforgettable weekend of action. Night 1 is headlined by Cody Rhodes putting his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Randy Orton, while Night 2 closes with CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against 2026 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns. Retired 17-time champion John Cena is back as the official host of the event, marking his first WWE appearance since his retirement last December. This edition also carries a historic broadcasting milestone as WrestleMania 42 becomes the first ever WrestleMania to air live on ESPN’s linear channels, with the opening hour of each night broadcasting on ESPN2 for Night 1 and ESPN for Night 2, before the complete show streams on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally. The Night 1 main event centers around one of WWE’s most gripping ongoing storylines. Cody Rhodes, the man who fulfilled his destiny by capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship, now faces a calculated and dangerous Randy Orton with a major twist added to the equation. Pat McAfee has been unmasked as the mysterious voice guiding Orton, and a stipulation has been introduced stating that if Orton fails to capture the title, McAfee must walk away from the wrestling business permanently. The added pressure brings even more drama to what is already a blockbuster championship encounter. Fans should prepare themselves for an absolute classic between two superstars operating at the absolute peak of their careers at WrestleMania 42. Stephanie Vaquer, the groundbreaking Chilean champion, puts the Women’s World Championship on the line against Liv Morgan in what has been one of the most intense and personal feuds of the year. Vaquer has been among the most celebrated signings in WWE in recent memory, bringing an athletic and technically polished style that has taken the women’s division to new heights. Morgan enters as a relentless and unpredictable challenger who never stops fighting. Expect Vaquer to put on a performance that reminds everyone exactly why she stands at the top of the women’s division. The Women’s Tag Team Championships will be decided in a stacked Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match.
