Match Overview

NJPW Wrestling Dontaku 2026 is a pay-per-view event produced by New Japan Pro Wrestling, taking place on May 3 and 4, 2026, at the Fukuoka International Center in Fukuoka, Japan. It marks the 21st edition of the NJPW Wrestling Dontaku event series.

Night 1 features Gabe Kidd challenging Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship. Tsuji lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Sakura Genesis and will be looking to hold on to his remaining title heading into this high-stakes championship encounter. However, Andrade El Idolo replaced the injured Gabe Kidd and ultimately captured the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship by defeating Yota Tsuji in the main event.

Also on the card, the NEVER Openweight Championship is on the line as Ren Narita defends against Oleg Boltin. At the same time, United Empire’s Will Ospreay, Great-O-Khan, and HENARE clash against Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, and Tatsuya Matsumoto in a Six-Man Tag Team contest.
