Match Overview
WWE Friday Night SmackDown heads to the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy for another exciting episode as part of WWE’s ongoing European Summer Tour. This marks the second consecutive week that the Blue Brand broadcasts from overseas, following a historic week that included Clash in Italy and the Raw fallout show from Turin.
Featured superstars for tonight’s show include Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Rhea Ripley, Trick Williams, Gunther, Sami Zayn, Damian Priest & R-Truth, Solo Sikoa and the MFTs, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and many more exciting names.
Tonight’s episode is expected to feature first-round King and Queen of the Ring tournament matches, along with major fallout from Clash in Italy. The 2026 tournaments run from June 1 to June 27, with the finals taking place at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. On the men’s side, Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, and Damian Priest will collide in a Fatal Four-Way King of the Ring first-round match.
On the women’s side, Bayley, Raquel Rodriguez, Jacy Jayne, and Kiana James will battle it out in a Fatal Four-Way Queen of the Ring first-round clash. The tournament winners will earn world title opportunities at SummerSlam.
At Clash in Italy, Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther in a controversial finish, Rhea Ripley successfully defended the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill, and Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
A major development on the Raw fallout saw Jacob Fatu officially acknowledge Roman Reigns, dropping to one knee before the two embraced, with The Usos joining them as the reformed Bloodline raised their signature gesture together.
With a controversial finish surrounding Cody’s title defense and Drew McIntyre’s anticipated return on the horizon, tonight’s SmackDown promises to deliver major storyline developments heading toward Night of Champions.
